Over the weekend, Wairarapa Cobham Intermediate was represented in the South Island Jump Jam Challenge Competition with 2 teams. Both teams have been working really hard since the start of Term 3 when we sent through our video entry. Both teams then qualified for the South Island Competition. Last Friday, we were lucky enough to have Brett Fairweather come in and run a coaching session for each team. This was an awesome opportunity for the students leading up to their competition. Brett gave them lots of tips and tricks for our performance. Our boys team competed in the year 5-8 Strictly Nationals and All Boys Category. They did such an awesome job competing against the other teams and came away with 3rd place! For a lot of these boys it was their first time on stage performing in a Jump Jam competition so we are very proud of them and their efforts. The boys won themselves a medal each and a 3rd place trophy. They also came away with a Merit Award in costuming, technical execution and presentation. Our girls team competed in the Year 7-8 Xtreme Category, which is the top category for their age group!! This was an extremely tough category to compete in with the top 5 teams out of 8 scoring in the high 90’s out of 100. The girls did an outstanding job, they came away with a Merit Award for costuming, and Excellence Awards in technical execution and presentation. Both teams did an outstanding job and represented Wairarapa Cobham with pride. It was a pleasure seeing them all perform on stage after all of their hard work during rehearsals. We look forward to competing again next year!
