Internet Use Policy
INTRODUCTION
The Board of Trustees is providing every educational opportunity to students, including controlled access to, and use of, the Internet.
OBJECTIVES
- To support classwork and research.
- To educate students in purposeful use of this resource.
- To provide access to current knowledge.
GUIDELINES
- Access to the Internet is a privilege and continued use depends on respect for the rules of the School and care of the equipment.
- All users are responsible for legal, financial and other obligations resulting from their use of the Internet.
- Users at all times will identify themselves and not misrepresent themselves.
- Users will at all times respect the privacy and copyright of others. This means that the work of others must be fully acknowledged; users may read their own mail only; passwords and personal details must not be disclosed.
- E-mail messages must be courteous and respect the privacy and dignity of others.
- Users may not access material that may be offensive to members of the School community. If a user wishes to search for material that may be offensive, permission must be obtained from the supervising teacher.
- The School may at any time terminate or suspend or limit Internet access.
- A User's Agreement Form signed by both Parent / Caregiver and Student is a prerequisite for student use of the Internet.
- A User's Agreement Form signed by each Staff Member is a prerequisite for Staff use of the Internet.
