Fundraising Policy
INTRODUCTION
This policy details the boundaries of fund raising that may be carried out by the Board of Trustees and the staff and students of Cobham Intermediate School.
OBJECTIVES
To define boundaries of fund raising:
- avoiding students being put at risk through door to door collecting;
- preventing the burden falling upon a few willing helpers;
- acknowledging the different financial means within our community through equitable demands.
GUIDELINES
The Board of Trustees will support the School community’s wishes against major fundraising projects and collect the major fundraising through the school donation.
- Major fundraising such as fairs, School-wide 'athon's, door to door selling are not permitted.
- Fundraising will be permitted where there is a service or entertainment element to the community, the School, or the students.
- To avoid pressure selling and complications for caregivers and/or teachers/staff, no "sale or return" items will be sent home with students. Samples will be available for viewing at the School office.
- Year 8 classes are allowed to have one stall or fundraising activity per year within the School in order to fund camps or classroom requirements with the Principal’s approval. Any other class fundraiser specifically for camps must be within the class community.
