With a consistent roll of over 700, Cobham Intermediate is able to provide significant resources and facilities specifically tailored to meet the needs of year 7 and 8 students. Our innovative teaching programmes include accelerated classes for the highly able, inquiry immersion classes, learning and special needs support, bi-lingual provision, English as a Second Language (ESOL) and high quality international student care.
Core classroom teachers work collaboratively to cater for the needs of individual students. We employ specialist staff not only in the technology subjects (food, fabrics, wood, metal/plastics), but also in music, art, science, and physical education. This allows for smaller class sizes and more comprehensive, professional activities in these areas of the curriculum.
Cobham offers a diversity of opportunities across academic, cultural and sporting domains, a strength that meets the educational needs of our multi-cultural intake and provides rich experiences across the curriculum. Our students excel in these fields, all of them achieving successes in a positive, caring environment. All students (and staff!) are encouraged to live up to our motto “Achieving for Life”.
After 15 great years as Principal of Cobham, Trevor Beaton retired at the end of Term 1. We are thrilled that Scott Thelning has been appointed as the new Principal, a position he commenced at the beginning of Term 3 this year.
Please read more about what Cobham offers students on this website and in our latest Education Review Office Report (2010). We welcome your interest and would be delighted to host you on a visit to our school or assist in any way we can.

information here on communication
Parents/Caregivers of Year 7 students are requested to accompany their child and share an interview with the classroom teacher on enrolment day.
Towards the end of Term 1 a brief outline of Progressive Achievement Test scores and other relevant data will be issued. Parents and students are asked to read and consider this teacher produced discussion sheet prior to attending an interview with the student's classroom teacher.
A full, computerized report will be issued towards the end of the year.
Either parents or teachers may request additional interviews at any time.
School is open to students from 8am each morning.
Playground supervision by teachers does not commence until 8.15 am.
If through illness, or unavoidable cause, a student is to be absent, parents/caregivers are requested to telephone the School Office between 8 - 9am.
On the student’s return to school an explanatory note from a parent/caregiver about the absence is requested.
Parents will be contacted in the morning if a student is absent and an explanation has not been received.
Homework will be set during the school week and is expected to be completed.
Recognizing different rates at which students work, an average of 30 minutes per night over four nights per week is a reasonable time.
